Thanks, I really like how this design came out. I think it'll look even better when there's some Ivy growing up it from the plant-pot recesses in the base. I was thinking a sort of portal-2 vibe but we'll see how it comes out! If I was doing it again I'd probably print it in a darker, shinier filament but I'm not going to try to break the tubes out of it for another try.

Things here are going OK thanks, continuing the odd 3D design as I'm sure you've seen (got another 2 in progress at the moment but they might take a while) and still building up the shared workshop here slowly.

As for how you're feeling I'm not sure there's really much I can suggest because I work in a very different way so I don't feel the same pressures. I'm not deg with the purpose of selling, everything I design is something that I want for my own use and any sales are just a bonus so there's no real pressure for me. I've also noticed the flood of low-quality and untested design that are showing up with just renders and no test prints on the platform these days. I never like or a model that the designer hasn't shown a test print for because they're often un-printable.

That's also why I don't put so much effort into the photos, since I'm not relying on selling them it's not worth me setting up a special photography space for them. I'd never see the cost of that back in sales so I just make do with what's to hand whenever I decide I'm done with a design.

Yes that's the service I used to make this one. I did try the image stabilizing option (I don't have a turntable or tripod so had to do it hand-held) and it didn't really work well, I think the repeating pattern confused it. I might try to make another better one later.

Ouch! Yeah that sounds pretty nasty, don't worry I've quite a few years of experience with lathes and mills and this isn't the first one I've had of my own, I'll be careful!

I don't have social media so there's not all that much advertising I can do but I will share with friends/family.

Hopefully I'll have some more designs up myself soon, I'm also in the middle of commissioning a new printer (Voron 2.4R2 350mm) which is proving to be a relatively challenging build and setup but I'll get there soon and it'll be nice to be able to work on a larger scale again.

Doing good thanks, how's things over there? I've been calibrating and aligning the laser so it's running very well now, I've got it cutting wood and acrylic up to about 15mm thick and I've been making some clutch mounting plates for a friend and some hallowene decoration in black and orange acrylic (probably could have 3D printed those, but the laser is faster for anything that's mostly flat)

The lathe hasn't really been looked at yet because I need to move the laser into it's permanent home in the new building before the lathe can get moved out of storage and have it's upgrades fitted.

Hope the sales go well for you! I'll let you know once we've got the laser cutter fully repaired and running.

Well a laser cutter is always useful to have! Making artwork a bit probably but mostly parts and repair bits I expect. As for the lathe well, it's great for repairing things cause you always wind up needing to make special screws, shafts, pins etc. I'm trying to start up a community workshop so I've been collecting/storing/repairing donated equipment getting ready for when we can get a building.

Good luck with the physical sales, definitely looks like some of those items would sell well, where are you planning on listing them?

Thanks for the follow too! Yes I really like the very geometric forms so wrapping them around a pot is fun. I'm very impressed what you can achieve with line-based designs on your pots

I looked at your collection and I would like to make a remark: For the presentation photos, take photos from the front, without an angle. I feel like it looks better on cult thumbnails. This is just my opinion and you have the right to disagree. :-)

Interesting suggestion, I do have front-on pictures of most of them, I'll try moving them to be the thumbnail and see how that goes, thanks! I can't do new photos of most of them because I gave to friends and family but I've got ideas for at least another 5 before my plant-pot obsession wears out :)

Yes I really enjoyed how the chaotic crystal one came out, that definitely been the most popular amongst friends and I kept 4 of them for myself. I might play with a few variations on that theme in future and see what happens

oh man, I love plants. besides machine building it the hobby which give me the most peace :D Let me know if you figured the setting out. I am somewhat of a newbie too so i was just as puzzled when the collections disappeared .

I started doing those pots more out of a love for the geometry of them than anything else but they really turned out well so I've been getting quite a lot of plants to put in them recently. I always test print all my designs so I've got quite a lot of plants in custom pots around the place now! I've got at least 5 more designs in the pipeline but of course work takes up a lot of time so not sure when they'll be good enough to release but they'll show up at some point.

I couldn't see any reason that they would break your collections like that so I'm going to and see if there's any help they can provide.

I did get some from Pierre. Apparently if you add somebody else's design to your collection , the collection disappears off of your page and can only be found in the collections tab. thats just the way it is for now . Anyway, I shall hop on CAD. favorite past time :D Have a nice day

Sorry no I don't, I only needed that one replacement and I don't have the keyboard any more so I can't produce designs for new ones. You can mirror that one in your slicer software to get one other type.

Bit of an update here Bill, I've managed to borrow the keyboard back, so I've now done designs for all the white keys.
