Hi, thank you for the LMS brake van in TT120, I'm looking forward to converting it to a ZUV Shark in preparation for when the ready-to-run Seacow hoppers come out from Hornby. Many thanks again, regards Jon Roach

Good luck with this project. Please let me know how you get on with it.
Kind regards.
Mike

i would like to print this in O gauge, what's percentage scaling would this be on a Bambu lab A1 please?

Hi Philip - sorry, I can't see which model you're referring to? Mike

Hi Anthony - is that the N Gauge models? If so, Farish wheel sets, I'm pretty sure. Mike

Hello. Could you tell me what wheels you fitted to the Co2 TTA tanks please? Cheers, Anthony

Hi Mike,

Thanks for getting back to me. I'll have a dig around our archives to see if we have a set of engineering drawings. Failing that I will have to get the measuring tape out to measure our loco.

The plan is to print out the loco to feature on an N scale representation of our railway for the public to see. I have found a copy of the carriage we use, it's just the loco we're missing.

Thank you for taking the time to help me with my request, it is appreciated.

Sarah

Hi,

Would it be possible to modify your Andrew Barclay model number 2148737 to look like our locomotive, Powfoot No1 for an N gauge setup of our Heritage railway. As you can see it doesn't have the hump in front of the cab and it has a funnel for the exhaust.

Hi Sarah - thanks for your message about my Barclay BR 06 design.

I've had a quick look back at the design and, as I thought, the motor of the N Drive Productions 0-4-0 chassis projects into that hump forward of the cab.

There's also the Tsugawa TU-DB158 chassis now available with a 12v motor from Tramfabriek.nl - I'll have a look at how that might fit.
...

I've had a look at using this Tsuwaga chassis and it should work ok.

Do you have some drawings of this loco? The proportions seem quite different to the BR 06.

A redesign is feasible, but what do you have in mind for it? Would you want to sell prints?

Mike

Hi Paul - welcome to Cults3D!
So far I've not been able to identify a suitable service to simply supply printed models from my range.
However the mechanism you describe, buying my design then having someone print you copies (unlimited numbers, for your personal use) is being used by other customers.
There are several bureau type services out there. One that has produced satisfactory results is 247 Developments (https://www.247developments.co.uk) who produce their own prints and etched plates.
Kind regards
Mike

Hi Mike
As a very happy customer of yours from before Shapeways went down, is it possible for Cults to print your models or do I only have the option of buying the stl files and then finding someone with a 3D printer as I don't have one and cannot justify the expense and time to get one and learn how to use it.
Best regards
Paul

Last question. Is the under frame part of the print in its correct position and do the buffers have long shanks and are the holes for the buffers the correct size. Thank you for your time. Graham

Hi Graham - so far as I can tell, it's all fine, but whereas with Shapeways I could guarantee precise and repeatable printing standards, with consumer quality printers, there's bound to be variation. You should assume that some filing will be necessary to fit parts together. Mike

Do you have a price for a rescaled N Gauge Macaw. Cheers

Is it possible to rescale the TT model of the GWR Macaw With bogies to N Gauge? Cheers Graham

Hi Graham - I've rescaled the body, but I'm not sure the bogies will work. The NGS offer plate-back and diamond frames, with couplings, sized for Farish axles and moulded in polystyrene, so they will take years of wear and tear. I think they're a better option than printed bogies in N. https://cults3d.emulatorsite.com/en/3d-model/game/n-gauge-gwr-macaw-h-br-bogie-bolster-a-wagon

Hi. Do you need a base plate for the wagon to mount the Bogies? Do you sell the File in STL without the bogies and in N Gauge. Cheers

The N Gauge design has bosses for the NGS or similar bogies.

Cheers

I will post some pictures when I have completed the models.

Unfortunately I had four printed and will need to find someone to print buffers.

Replacement buffers on their way.

Hi Mike,
Its in a message earlier whch seems to be stuck saying waiting approval, probably because there is an email address in it. You can get me on stephen underscore mccotter at the warm post with the .co.uk on the end. Lets see if that cryptic way gets through.

I hear you with regard to the Airfix tank and etched brass. I have always been surprised that there were not more brass conversion kits out there for wagons. I know Rumney Models make a few, and years ago Comet and Crownline had some conversion bits, but people do less actual modelling these days. I'm still working my way through Airfix, Parkside, Ratio, Slaters, Cambrian and Chivers plastic kits and have a large crate f whitemetal ones to build. Thats what I like about 3d printing. I can let the printer run off a wagon you cannot otherwise buy while I am building a kit or painting a wagon. Jonny Duffett's designs on Thingiverse are fantastic and I have been working with Slanjanok on Thingiverse to produce some early containers. Sascha (Slanjanok) does all the drawing while I do some of the research and critique his drafts for where areas we cannot see need to be worked out or adapted. I am fortunate to have access to large numbers of drawings, mainly pre-BR though, so if you need something let me know and there is a chance I might have it or can get it.
I am hoping with the demise of Shapeways that more people who had files on there transfer them to Cults. I think its a much better system. I am slowly learning Fusion360 but its very very slowly and I have only drawn a few basic things. Recently I have learned to use the very basic elements of Meshmixer to adapt other .stls. So I have now made a sand wagon out of a 16t mineral.

Drop me an email and I can send you some bits and pieces if you want, or some of my dads photos from Millerhill yard taken in 1976 where his uncle was the wagon repair foreman as you seem to like 70s era I am guessing?

Hi Mike,
my email actually ends in .co.uk - to try and stop bots I do it that way.

Hi Stephen - I don't see/know your email address. Cults glitch?
Mike

Hi,
I like some of these files. Do you intend to release them in 4mm? I would like to see more images of the .stls to see how much detail there is in them but I am tempted by the carbon dioxide tanks and the Class A vehicles. I can email you some pictures of the Class B vehicles at Millerhill in the mid 70s which show them with different types of tank s.

Hi Stephen - did you receive my reply? ( I got an error when I hit Send)
Mike

Hi Mike,
Unfortunately it did not survive hyperspace!

Ok, well basically I wrote that I don't know yet! At the moment I'm a refugee from bankrupt Shapeways - selling to the home printing market is new to me. I've moved about a quarter of my designs onto Cults3D so far, but it all takes time, especially recreating the images and text surrounding each design.

WRT OO, I'm wary as it would mean adding levels of detail that aren't missed in smaller scales. I don't have access to detailed drawings nor do I have the time to deep-dive into individual models. Personally, I'm all for brass etch details, which is all the Airfix 35t Class B ever needed!

Kind regards

Mike
