*Why am I here?
I have been making handy accessory designs for the last few years (since 2021) and sharing these for free on Thingiverse (https://www.thingiverse.com/abdulishandy/designs). Throughout, I have been informed of file thieves printing and selling these free designs.
Fortunately, community and s, see and report to ban such individuals. Unfortunately, it can still happen and this ultimately rips me off as the designer and community that pay for poorly printed parts - e.g. Those that crack due to incorrect seam positioning or low infill used or worse pla (instead of petg) that shrinks in print so won't work correctly.
This is an insidious part of the community, but there is always a silver lining. I have moved to Cults3d now to sell designs and in doing so, this may help protect files and community as well earn me some much needed income.
*Why do I do this?
I want to work for Ohdoki, but they have rules around hiring Oslo based staff only - At least that's what they told me :-)
Hopefully things will change and they will expand into the UK in the future. Until then, I will try my best to promote the handy and Ohdoki as a company with accessories that enhance the experience.
I am also a handy (as of 07.06.24) after much persuasion from quite a few handy community as well as even the inventor of the handy. When buying anything from www.thehandy.com - Please use my referral link as this will help me earn a small commision at no cost to you:
*Back to the designs!
I strongly recommend that you get your own 3d printer - Anything from Bambu Labs A1 mini, A1, P1S or X1C: Whichever suits your budget. Please also get an air filter and 3d printing tools like a micro cutter, precision tweezers, calipers, if into deg and measuring as well as a filament dryer to prevent wet stringy prints.
This way you can print as you wish, when you want to, than need to have something printed and wait for shipping.
However, if you don't have a 3d printer yet or cannot commit to one for now, you can try a local 3d print service to you via craftcloud3d - https://craftcloud3d.com/
Order 3d prints and get 10% off with this referral code: REFKJ7PW3K8
*Last note!
Good luck with your prints and please do with pics - There is always room for improvement and I will endeavor to revise designs as possible. All the best! Abdulishandy
