Alfredâs Printing Recommendations:
"Ah, good evening. Now, if youâre planning on printing this maskâcowl, helmet, or however you fancy calling itâallow me to provide some advice to ensure it comes out as splendidly as possible.
Master Eikki tested it on his Prusa MKS3+, with a printing bed of 18x18x20 cm. However, the Creality CR-10 V3 is currently occupied by none other than that sexy lady mercenary. It seems Master Eikkiâs working on some new toys for her to match the loudly merc with a mouth, so Iâd suggest you keep an eye out for those surprises.
For filament, PLA+ is always a solid choiceâstrong and reliable. However, if youâd prefer something a bit more comfortable, especially for the neck collar and chin sections, Iâd recommend TPA or TPU (flexible filaments). This will not only make the neck and chin pieces more comfortable but also prevent any unfortunate pinches while wearing them. In fact, if youâre in the mood, you could even print the entire cowl with flexible filament for maximum comfort.
When placing the pieces in your slicer, lay them horizontally with the most important details facing upwards to ensure the s donât mar the surface. Itâs much like polishing a fine pair of Oxfordsâprecision is key.
Master Eikki also has his preferred settings, though I dare say every printer is a little temperamental in its own way. Do feel free to adjust as needed:
Settings (These work well for Master Eikki, but each printer has its quirks):
â First Layer Density: 11%
â Top Z Distance: 0.24 mm
â Pattern: Honeycomb
â Pattern Spacing: 7 mm
â Bottom Interface Layers: Same as Top
â XY Separation: 0.8 mm
â Donât Bridges: Enabled
Speed Settings (A word of cautionâprinters sense fear):
â Perimeters: 240 mm/s
â Small Perimeters: 24 mm/s
â External Perimeters: 24 mm/s
â Infill: 330 mm/s
â Solid Infill: 330 mm/s
â Top Solid Infill: 330 mm/s
â Material: 500 mm/s
â Material Interface: 500 mm/s
â Bridges: 330 mm/s
â Gap Fill: 330 mm/s
â First Layer Speed: 24 mm/s
Master Eikki relies primarily on Prusa Slicer but has also tested on Cura Slicer and Orca Slicerâeverything should work smoothly, but adjustments may be necessary. If you encounter any issues or need guidance, please donât hesitate to leave a comment or send him an email at [email protected] or [email protected].
Now, do be aware that if he doesnât respond immediately, itâs likely because heâs busy crafting gear for The Dark Knight, keeping up with the Merc with a Mouth and his charming counterpart Lady Deadpool, tempering the claws of the Grumpy Old Logan, or possibly dealing with a new batch of mutants, Inhumans, gods, or even⊠well, letâs just say Vought Enterprises can be rather persistent. And if that werenât enough, he just received a mysterious call from Zordonâone can only imagine what thatâs about.
But rest assured, Master Eikki will get back to you. He always doesâjust give the man a moment to breathe. And when youâre done printing this cowl, show him what youâve got. After all, even Gothamâs finest need a little inspiration every now and then.
Now, off you go. Print something worthy of the legend."
