Wall Mounted Tablet Holder designed to work for either an Lenovo Tab M10+ Gen 3, 10.61" tablet.

This was parametrically designed in FreeCad. If you are interested in a design for an alternative tablet model, I may be interested in modifying the design for other tablet sizes.

This design is for Landscape Orientation.

There are Four STL files included in the purchase:

• Lenovo Tab M10+ Gen 3 - Left - it is the removeable side with allowances for the Volume or Power buttons (I would recommend this one as it is easy enough to slide open the mount to press the power button)
• Lenovo Tab M10+ Gen 3 - Right - It is the permanently mounted side that houses your USB cable you supply. (Important to use the one I suggested or you will possibly need to break out the dremel)
• Lenovo Tab M10+ Gen 3 - Right No Finger - It is the same as the above with no finger slot.
• Lenovo Tab M10+ Gen 3 - USB Connector Filler - It is a USB Connecter filler to hold the USB connector secure (You can use hot glue to secure it, once USB cable is installed and aligned)

Keep in mind, the right wall mounts are specifically designed for the USB-C cables noted. If you use another type, it may require dremel work and hot glue to keep it in the proper position.

INSTALLATION OPTION 1 (Most difficult but most elegent solution. Requires high voltage wiring work.):
The design is made to work with a permanently mounted "ARLINGTON INDUSTRIES DVFR1WGC 1-Gang Arlington Recessed Indoor IN BOX" and a Leviton 110 volt (or similar) duplex outlet with USB type C power connectors. See Alternative Installation Option 2 instructions for a cheaper installation option.

You need to install a Duplex 110v plug outlet with at least one USB Type-C Port. These are commonly available at a store like Home Depot or Lowes. I have provided a photo of one option.

Installation Option 1 instructions:

1) Install the Arlington Recessed power box in the appropriate location per instructions that came with it. Do not use the slide on cover plate supplied, as the Right 3D print replaces it. Ensure the box is plumb and not crooked as it will affect the level of the tablet mount. Use shims if necessary.

2) Run the power wire into the box and then install the duplex outlet into the box, and internal outlet cover.

3) Install the USB-C cable into the Right 3D printed bracket. Use hot glue to secure it with the USB cable spacer printed out. I recommend orienting the cable with the tablet slid in to ensure the correct orientation prior to gluing it. This will ensure less stress on the tablet for trouble free use.

5) Orient the USB-C cable in the recessed slot on the bottom of the Right 3D print. Use a dab of hot glue if you like to keep it in place if you like.

6) Install 3M VHB double sided tape in the appropriate recesses on the bottom side of the Right 3D print.

7) Plug in the USB cable to the plug outlet USB receptacle.

8) Install the Right 3D print on the Recessed Arlington box. Ensure the USB Cable is fed through the slot and not pinched. Secure the Right 3D print with the supplied screws but do not overtighten them as you will crack the 3D print.

9) Press the 1/2 wide, 3M VHB double sided tape to the wall. This is optional but recommended. It is available on Amazon or brick and mortar stores.

10) Slide in the tablet into the right wall mount until the USB-C cable is plugged in to the tablet.

11) Congratulate yourself, as you are now done.

SAFETY NOTICE: Keep in mind the installation above requires you to work with 110V power. If you are not comfortable doing this, and alternate method of install is to use the 10 Foot USB cable below and feed it through the wall to the baseboard area, then out the wall to a plug outlet. Install is much easier, but not as elegant.

INSTALLATION OPTION 2 (USB cable more visible that Option 1, but less visible that Option 3):

Alternatively, this can be installed without a recessed plug outlet.

Installation Option 2 instructions:

1) Drill two holes (appropriately sized to fit the connector through). One behind the Right mount aligned with the USB cable path, and one drilled into the wall near the baseboard, close to a plug outlet in the same stud cavity.

2) Fish the longer USB-C cable between the two holes.

3) Align the Right mount on the wall and mark the holes to be drilled. Install plastic screw anchors flush to the wall.

4) Install the USB cable into the Right 3D printed bracket. Use hot glue to secure it with the USB cable filler (printed). I recommend orienting the cable with the tablet slid in to ensure the correct orientation prior to gluing it. This will ensure less stress on the tablet for trouble free use.

5) Orient the USB cable in the recessed slot on the bottom of the Right 3D print. You could use a dab of hot glue if you like. Orient the cable slot to align with the upper hole in the wall.

6) Install 3M VHB double sided tape in the appropriate recesses on the bottom side of the Right 3D print.

7) Install the Right 3D print on the wall. Ensure the USB Cable is fed through the slot and not pinched. Secure the Right mount with appropriate chamfered screws. WARNING - ensure that the screw head does not protrude and interfere with the back of the tablet (otherwise it may scratch your tablet) and do not overtighten them as you may crack the 3D print.

8) Press the 1/2 wide, 3M VHB double sided tape to the wall. This is optional but recommended. It is available on Amazon or brick and mortar stores.

9) Slide in the tablet into the right wall mount until the USB cable is plugged in to the tablet.

11) Slide the Left mount print around the tablet and into the slots of the Right 3D print. The tablet can be adjusted in setting to not power off. If you need to press the power button just slide the Left mount open to press it.

12) Plug the other end of the USB cable into a power block.

13) Congratulate yourself, as you are now done.

INSTALLATION OPTION 3 (USB cable more visible that Option 2 but requires no holes to be drilled in the wall for the USB cable):

Installation Option 3 instructions:

1) Usings a dremel or side cutters, remove the knock out on the Right side mount for the USB cable to exit on the bottom of the mount. See CAD drawing.

2) Align the Right mount on the wall and mark the mounting screw holes to be drilled. Install plastic screw anchors flush to the wall. Alternatively mount screws into a stud.

2) Install the USB-C cable into the Right 3D printed bracket. Use hot glue to secure it with the USB cable filler (printed). I recommend orienting the cable with the tablet slid in to ensure the correct orientation prior to gluing it. This will ensure less stress on the tablet for trouble free use.

3) Orient the USB-C cable in the recessed slot on the bottom of the Right 3D print. You could use a dab of hot glue if you like. I didn't need to.

4) Install 3M VHB double sided tape in the appropriate recesses on the bottom side of the Right 3D print.

5) Install the Right 3D print on the wall. Ensure the USB Cable is fed through the slot and not pinched. Secure the Right mount with appropriate chamfered screws. WARNING - ensure that the screw head does not protrude and interfere with the back of the tablet (otherwise it may scratch your tablet) and do not overtighten them as you may crack the 3D print.

6) Press the 1/2 wide, 3M VHB double sided tape to the wall. This is optional but recommended. It is available on Amazon or brick and mortar stores.

7) Slide in the tablet into the right wall mount until the USB cable is plugged in to the tablet.

PRINTING INSTRUCTIONS:

Note that printing instructions vary widely by printer model. These are guidelines:

• Ensure your printer is calibrated properly.

• PETG or PLA filament is acceptable. I personally used PETG.

• 15% infill

• Slower first layer.

• s on the Right and Left 3D brackets. I used anti-warping tabs on the Left 3D model near the slide in tabs. Probably not required depending on your bed adhesion.

• This can be printed and was designed on an Ender 3 build plate size of 220mm x 220mm.

• Iron the top surface if you like. FYI I did not do that so I don't know what it would look like.

• Orient the print on the build plate so that the wall facing surface is against the build plate.

• Print out one of the Left, Right, USB Connector Filler.
