Hello the .3mf file does not work when trying to paint on CrealityPrint V6.0 I also have the Dragon Jr that I can change colors easy, what's with creality software saying the 3mf project is not ed and only imports stl?
Hi! The original Articulated Dragon was not designed for multicolor printing at the beginning, and it's not made of different solids as the Dragon Jr. So it is a painted 3MF file instead. Additionally, Creality Print lacks some features and can't load some 3MF multicolor files. There's a workaround until they fix it:
It should work now (it did for me). Good luck!
How many hours should this dragon take on a Neptune 4 Plus?
I have no idea. Maybe someone around with a Neptune 4 Plus can answer you
Hi there,
I am waiting for my first 3D printer ever and love that dragon design.
Have you got like shorter version of it? I will not be able to shorten it myself.. first steps in this 3D world.
I have seen jr version but its too short and looks a bit too much like jr xD
Hi! I'm afraid there's no short version of this Dragon. Some people asked for it, but it doesn't look right to me. It loses all the "essence". That's why I ended up deg Jr.
what size egg does it need to fit it in, printed it out all great
No idea, I haven't printed any egg 😅
very nice
Hi, Sorry I am new at this, what is the dimensions? How long?
Hi! At original size it needs a small bed to be printed (180 x 180 mm), and once placed straight it's about 40 cm long 😉
Have you made the design available for separation so they can been printed individually and click together?
I love the design and want to try and make this for Christmas
Hi! I'm working on it, but it's a side project I'm doing aside from the new designs. I'm improving a few things, so I hope it's worth the wait 😉
Amazing work mate. Gutted it’s not available to print in that fashion yet. Cant imagine how long it would take .
I just saw a video of exactly this, im trying to find that design as i want to print this as big as possible on my neptune 4 max
I am aslo interested in being able to make a giant version :) (bambulab size)
The project is almost finished, but needs some testing. It will be Patreon exclusive for some time (https://www.patreon.com/c/mcgybeer), at least during the beta stage or until I feel confident enough to release it for sale 😜
printed large scale on CR-30 no issues
Aguardo
Hi! It seems either a bad gcode or a hardware issue. I'm not familiar with the K1 Max, so I'm not sure what could have failed in the hardware. I suggest you to and slice again the file. It might be just a corrupted file. Good luck!
the file is fine its your issue not the file
Sorry if this has already been asked, but would you recommend printing this with a brim to help with adhesion? Or can this be done without?
Just bought the model and printing first test now.
Hi! On most printers it can be printed as it is, without brim. It needs a nice first layer, good adhesion, and good layer cooling. If your machine has issues with any of these, then it might need a brim. Here you can find a few tips I've been gathering over time: https://www.mcgybeer.xyz/printing-tips
Hope it helps!
Thanks . That does help a lot. So far the print is going well (with a brim), but if all goes well, will test without.
Amazing 🤩
Im bambu slicer sieht alles gut aus aber gedruckt mischt der Drucker alle Farben durcheinander
Not sure what the issue could be. Please, send me a picture to [email protected] so I can help you 😉
So this ParazitCAT person has been claiming your dragon is theirs on Thingiverse, and I just want to see a thief get their comeuppance. It's for your dragon, naturally.
Thanks a lot for your concern, I'll check it 😉
大佬你好 刚买了你得模型 能不能给点 打印详细参数 我得邮箱 [email protected] 我用的 bambu lab A1 机器。
Hi! In Bambu Studio you can use the default settings for 0.2 mm layer height. That works perfect 👌
@mcgybeer!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Someone has reposted your design: https://makerworld.com/en/models/495088#profileId-409157
Thanks a lot for your concern. Fortunately, it seems it has been already removed 😉
Can this be separated into pieces? I've already bought this, I was wondering if you had one that was in pieces...
You can separate it into pieces in the slicer. It's just a one click option. However, it won't be possible to assemble it after printing unless you modify the files or cut the links.
I get that, I was just wondering if you have one made up like that already
Well, so many people is asking about it that I'll work on it as soon as I release the new design 😜
Lol well thank you for letting me know
Do you usually glue the whiskers in or is there another way to keep them up? TIA
Hi! Depending on the printer and the scale they are more fit or loose. If you don't want to use glue you can adjust the whisker's scale and print them separately, or adjust the XY compensation on the slicer 😉
I'm looking to attempt this on my anycubic photon mono x 6ks... anyone have any suggestions as to what resin would be most likely to succeed. I have the Siraya tech blu in emerald blue. But if there is something better would love to know
I'm afraid I haven't printed in resin for 3 years now. I'm quite disconnected from the resin present 😅
Wait- was this removed from thingiverse? I have one I made on thingiverse but wanted to make it bigger. I can't buy it because the fact that I don't have a credit card.
what are the specs of the dragon?
Hi! What specs are you looking for?
Just length. thanks for the fast response too btw!
At original size it needs a small bed to be printed (180 x 180 mm), and once placed straight it's about 40 cm long 😉
okay perfect thanks!
How small has anyone scaled this for it to not be fragile?
That's a great question, hope people share their results here because I guess that depends a lot on the material. For me, I haven't printed any small one. I go for big prints! 😂
with the right settings.. and let's say 0.1mm nozzle instead of 0.4 you can go very small :)
Hi, I'm new to 3d printing. Just bought a bambu lab a1 mini. Can I print this dragon on a1 mini?
Love the dragon, when I try to print it, the horns and spine print off of the body, Is there a fix?
Hi! I'm afraid I don't understand what do you mean. Please, send me a picture to [email protected] and I'll try to help 😉
Awesome dragon! I found it through Uncle Jessy, and in trying to print the "short horn" version, I found what looks like a flaw in the print file (printing in resin as well). I kept getting the same failure he did in that video, and on the "long horn" version I've never gotten that error. Is it possible to fix the bottom of the short horned version? In Chitubox you can see a "crack" in bottom of one of the segments after the hind legs.
Hi! Sure, I'll be glad to help. Can you send me a picture of the issue? ([email protected]). I can't find it 😅
Oh, just found it! I don't know what happened, because that issue is not in the original file. And no one has reported it before, thanks a lot for letting me know. I just ed a new version, please let me know if you find any other issue 😉
How awesome are you? Answer: VERY!! Keep the STLs going! They are so fun to print and play with!!
Grrrr... got the same failure again. So weird! I'm going to slice it in another slicer to give it one last go.
Hi! Did it work? I recently got another email with a similar issue, and in the end it was the slicer that was automatically reducing the polygon count and affecting the geometry
Hello! We purchased your file but are having trouble getting it printed. When I open it up in Cura each of the dragon body segments appear separated and not all together and linked to be printed. Please help!
Hi! That's the first time I hear something like that. Please, try ing it again just in case something went wrong. Let me know if the issue is not solved
The horns on the head break off even at 100% filling. The design has some problem there. ;(
Hi, I found a model you created that was bought and ed to Creality Cloud. If you have time, I recommend that you take action.

Reported, thanks a lot for your concern 😉
Hi awesome dragon design I'm new to printing and have the ender3 v3 se I printed the dragon and it turned out beautiful but when I started taken it off the raft it fell in to several pieces head fell off first before I even did anything is there something I'm doing wrong I was very careful pulling it off but it was like the pieces of hinge just didn't take any help will be appreciated specially since I paid for design thanks
Wow, that seems like a serious issue. Please, send me some pictures to [email protected] and I'll look into it.
Did you use Cura and scale it up, by any chance? In the past I've seen some models not printed properly because Cura was cutting a few mm from the bottom on upscaled parts. I think Creality slicer is also a Cura fork, so I guess that's another possibility.
Let me know!
Thanks for your quick response, I got your design from Cults, I don't have Cura only Creality App and I see scale up and stuff but don't quit know how to use it yet so I just went with what ever you offered. if you know how to add pics I would be glad to do that but ain't getting the option on my tablet (what I'm using for app) thanks again
One more thing I printed it in duel color silk pla would that make a difference
Hey bud, not sure if you are still having issues with your dragon, but with your raft try and make all of your sections (bottom, middle, top) as thin as possible. Also, if you have the option to, place your print .20mm above your raft. Since the raft will be really thin this will help your print grab. it might look like your raft isn't working but as long as the main outline sticks (not the netting sections) it should be ok. Hope this helps, peace.
Wie groß ist der Drache also welche druck größe braucht der drucker dafür?

Hello. Which CAD program did you use to draw this dragon?
Hi! I used Blender. However, to mess around and prototype the articulations I use Fusion 😉
