Starlink Mini cage mount for 2018-Current Jeep JL
This design is a two piece mount for the 3rd gen Starlink Mini released in 2023. It mounts to the OEM Jeep JL rear cage under the factory fiberglass hard top. Files are included to mount on either side of the cage (driver/enger). It uses the existing soft top bolt locations behind the plastic cover on the cage and has 2 additional optional holes that allow you to drill and rivet nut the cage for a sturdier 4 bolt mount for heavy offroad use. It is still very strong with only the 2 OEM bolt locations used but I recommned the optional bolts if you play offroad or want it stronger. It will not work with the OEM soft top since they use the same bolt locations on the cage. It will not work with aftermarket cages.
You will need M8 x30mm bolts to mount to the OEM cage threaded holes. I used these bolts: https://a.co/d/bo6tzpY
If you want to drill and rivet nut the optional 2 holes on the rear of the cage you will need M8 rivet nuts and a rivet nut tool. Make sure you drill the approriate size hole for the rivet nuts or you will have to upsize the rivet nut. These are the rivet nuts i used:

To mount the top plate to the base plate you will need 4 M8 bolts, 8 washers, and 4 lock nuts. See links below for hardware used:

***This design DOES NOT include an enclosure mount to hold the Starlink Mini down to the top plate. You will still need a mount to hold the Starlink to the top plate of this design. This design was based on the Revolink quick release mount. It will offset the mount and keep the Starlink Mini flush with the outside of the cage so when the hard top is removed it does not stick out where it can be easily damaged. I went with this design so I could easily remove the Starlink Mini for use in camp or wherever it is needed without any tools. The Revolink QR mount is very sturdy and holds the mini in place very well while still allowing it to be removed in seconds.
You can purchase the Revolink quick release mount here: https://revolink.com/collections/frontpage/products/revolink-sport-mount-for-starlink-mini
To bolt the Revolink to the top plate you will need 4 M6 bolts, 4 lock nuts, and washers. The bolts I used are located here:

If you need a top plate with holes designed for a different enclosure mount I can adapt this top plate and update the design if you provide me with the specific dimensions for the mounting holes and offset you need.
After extensive testing from Texas to California I am averaging 65-75% of the Starlink minis normal speeds and very few drops with the mini under the OEM hard top both stationary and while driving. I have not tested with the new touch free top or any other top variations. The OEM fiberglass hard top has a slight reduction to speeds but does not cause enough interference to reduce speeds in a drastic way or show up on the obstructions display in the Starlink app. AVG 80MBPS and 10mbps speeds under the hard top with an AVG of 125MBPS and 15MBPS with the Starlink Mini removed from the vehicle with no interfence in the same test locations.
The OEM rear 12v power outlet has enough voltage to power the Starlink Mini with the vehicle off for at least the 12 hours+ we tested with a stock battery without compromising the Jeeps starting power even with the second smaller OEM battery removed. You will need an aftermarket 12v cable like the one I used here: https://a.co/d/6vpJiot
You can swap the fuse location under the hood on fuse 43/45 to power on the rear 12v outlet on ignition or on battery depending on position. This is handy for camping without having to leave the ign on.
I have printed these on my Bambu X1C with .2 layer height with 6 wall loops and 75% gyroid infill using basic Bambu PLA and PLA CF for testing. I recommend a higher temp deflection filament like ABS CF, ASA CF, or PETG CF This print is approx 720g of filament with s.
This mount was also stress tested bouncing around the desert whoops and medium rock trails in Johnson Valley, CA at the 2025 King of the Hammers and performed flawlessly.
If you have any questions or need any help with this please let me know. I will be happy to help.
For a printing fee of $125+shipping in lower 48 ($20+/-) I will print this mount in Bambu ASA CF and ship with all hardware included. Lead time is 7-10 days on time to ship and 3-5 days in the lower 48 to ship. I will need to know which side you prefer the mount.
