DIY Platine linéaire de translation - Résolution micrométrique

I'm working on a few DIY optics projects as an amateur telescope maker (ATM). I've found that linear translation stages are key to a good mirror test setup and balked at the prices of Newport and Thor etc stages ($600+). In many cases I also don't need micrometer precision except in the Z axis (towards the mirror). I did find some very nice Newport and Thor stages on eBay from salvage lab equipment but wanted something printable for a tester I'm working on. This fits the bill marvelously!
