Make’s description
The PERFECT solution for a simple CR-10 TFT upgrade if you would like to avoid major modifications to your control box or building an entirely new case. What a beautiful build... a commercial quality design and make all the way around. Little touches, like the ports for SD card reader extensions and slots for card storage, are just icing on the cake.
Incredibly smart design, the mount slots perfectly into the hole for the original screen and fastens with a single existing stock screw to the power supply. I was a little put-off by the requirement for the brass knurled nuts to assemble the frame, but they really add to the quality of the build. I opted to superglue the brass nuts rather than mess with a soldering iron and heating the plastic… no issues whatsoever with the glue, everything is holding beautifully.
You'll want to be sure to print the hinged doors vertically (as modeled). I wanted to print flat side down for a nice shiny door exterior, but the hinges snapped at the layer lines when clipping them in place. I also recommend a little Teflon dry lube on the hinges after assembly.
Other than that, follow the instructions provided… it really couldn’t be much easier than it is.
I searched all over and looked at a lot of clunky external TFT mount boxes before I found this. There couldn’t be a more perfect adapter to upgrade your CR-10 to a new controller board and TFT… WELL DONE!
