3D model description

Files to make a Western Maryland U-Channel hopper car. This distinctive type of car was also used by a number of other railroads. This is the later version that used ladders

Trucks are not included, if printing in G scale this will work with USA trains Bettendorf trucks or you can print your own there are a number of free versions listed on Thingiverse.

The car sides print as two halves, and the slope sheets print as 2 separate pieces. The underframe is two sections that pin (1/8" rod) and glue together. There are also holes to use 1/8" pins to connect the slope sheets to the underframe as a sub-assembly. The underframe is set up for a standard Kadee coupler box, center set couplers will be the correct standard height. Hand grabs holes are scaled to fit .032" rod (if printing in 1:29 scale). There are holes scaled for 3/64" rod for the air lines. There are also holes in the brake linkage for ozark 1/2" bolt castings for the brake detail.

The files are scaled to 1 mm = 1" (1/25.4 scale) so when printing your car adjust the % in your slicer based on your scale:

G scale (1:29) scale to 86%
O Scale (1/48) scale to 52%
S Scale (1/64) scale to 39%
HO Scale (1/87) scale to 29%

All parts will fit a standard 220 x 220 build plate
