Ladies and Gentlemen.
You are here looking for printable 3D files because you have a 3D printer. Those machines exist because somebody was able, almost 50 years ago to design a very tiny super calculator.
This guy, unknown to me since I checked on internet which was the first processor, is Mr FREDERICO FAGGIN.
Mr Faggin designed in 1970 the first micro processor. this one you can see here, 4 bits architecture, in this tiny box DIP 16. For your memory, in 1946, 25 years before 1971 the same calcul power needed 30 tons of stuffs and 167 m² of ground floor.
Your printer is here because Mr Faggin designed this micro processor. and micro computers started with the next generation which is the 8080 8 bits architecture processor.
Looking to the pictures on Internet, I saw this ceramic version with gold legs and top and with circuits visibles underneath. I thought it could be nice to design a big 4004 with this look, 10:1 scale.
It is not a big project, you can print it during the WE. Almost 50 years after you can have this 4004 and let your friends talk around. Who will have ever heard about Mr FAGGIN ?
Then print the top of the circruit on the bed, preferably on a mirror to ba as close as possible to ceramic. Then use scotchbrite to remove the glossy effect because ceramic is not so glossy. Do it lighter, Same for the gold cover and all the legs, printed with the visible side on the bed.
Black letters same.
Please do not glue the grey circuit onto the white top plate. You will see the glue and it is not very nice. then I put the first sample into the trash and for the second version the parts were welded with soldering iron. you can see 2 pics showing that.
Then a bit of glue for all other parts and you have this masterpiece of history in hands.
I did not design inrerior of the circuit beause no data available. then you have a box, to put whatever you want inside, monney, keys, chocolate, cigarettes.
You can also add lights to let him glow in the dark, i suggest amber to be close to the gold finish.
Posting this design I realized the real main body is slighty different in the index area, Then I changed the design othe three concerned parts. If you want this version please print the 3 "index V2" parts.
Hope you will like this design made in honnor of Mr FAGGIN, Father of the first microprocessor.
please look at these pages for learning about 4004.

I will probably also design a 8008 version to celebrate the first 8 bits architecture micro processor, father of all micro computers we are running today, design is similar.
Also probably a 8080 which is also a very famous microprocessor.
Mr FAGGIN, if one day you read that I wand to tell you a huge THANK YOU for this great job.
