Had some requests for a pinless and spoonless Fuze head for my Meteorite Airsoft Impact Cap Grenade system. This Fuze Head requires nothing more than a quick twist to arm the grenade. Great for rapid deployment! No spoon or pin to lose!
The mechanism is as simple as possible, sharing a lot in common with the Meteorite's conventional Fuze head. Obviously it's completely compatible with the Meteorite Body and the MOLLE Clip (Find the clip here: https://cults3d.emulatorsite.com/en/3d-model/game/airsoft-meteorite-impact-grenade-molle-clip-less).
PARTS LIST:
1X M5X50mm Roofing bolt. The same bolt used in the conventional Meteorite Fuze. The head of the bolt must be maximum 12mm diameter.
1X Striker from the original Meteorite files.
1X Sear from the original Meteorite files.
2X Small screws to mount the Lid onto the Fuze Body. I used some tiny screws from my massive collection of random bits.
35mm Length of M110 AEG spring, again a shared component with the original Fuze.
Assembly Instructions:
Print parts, remove s. The Fuze thread s should peel off in one go. Make sure the Fuze Head screws into your Meteorite body, you may need to sand down the threads and wear it in by screwing and unscrewing the Fuze. Like the conventional Fuze, screw the M5 bolt through the Sear until the Sear sits flush under the bolt head, threadlocker is recommended.
Take the bolt and Sear assembly and drop it into the Fuze Head, the bolt should through the hole in the middle. Take the spring and it over the bolt and hook the cut end over the small ledge inside the wide hole on the bottom of the Fuze Head. The Striker now can be pushed onto the coils of the spring and then the bolt screwed into it. Make sure the end of the bolt doesn't protrude beyond the Striker base. Make sure the arrows on the Striker and Fuze Body base both point at each other and make sure the cut end of the spring is sitting on it's ledge as with the Conventional Fuze.
The Twist Ring can now be pushed onto the Fuze Head. It will only go on one way. It should spin when twisted, but a little friction won't hurt and will act as a detent. Take the Lid and screw it onto the Fuze Head using the two screw holes in both the Lid and Fuze head.
The Twist Head is now finished and ready for use.
When cocking the Meteorite, simply turn the Ring until the arrow on the Fuze Body points at the "A". This is the Armed position of the Fuze, once it's in the Armed position you can push up on the Striker and it will lock into place just like the conventional Meteorite Fuze.
With the Fuze cocked you can rotate the Ring to the "S" position. The Fuze is now cocked and set to SAFE. The Fuze can be screwed into a loaded Meteorite Body just like the conventional Fuze.
To deploy the grenade, twist the Ring anti-clockwise until it won't travel any further (approx. 90 degrees) and throw the Meteorite grenade, the Fuze is impact sensitive and will fire upon a firm enough impact. You shouldn't have to throw it hard against hard surfaces and it's reasonably sensitive on soft ground.
For airsoft use ONLY. Use only on private land with permission or at a proper airsoft site. Use responsibly, I'm not responsible for any harm or damage from misuse or malicious use of this device. Check with your airsoft site first. Keep away from ears, this is still a noisemaker at the end of the day. Do not use in confined spaces. Unload/disarm before entering safezones. Wear face protection when playing airsoft. Do NOT store or transport loaded. Be careful where you throw this, it's lighter than a BFG but is still a solid object. FOR CAP GUN CAPS ONLY!
I do not authorise reselling of this design, physical or electronic.
Bolts, springs, threadlocker, and screws not included. Final design may vary slightly from illustration. I'm keen to hear so I can keep updating the Meteorite system.
