Hello. I am checking back up on this design after ing it a year ago to see if you may have upped graded the files. Separate files I can't for the life of me figure out how to print even with s because you can't print models floating in mid air. I am not very good at CAD design as I'm just learning but, can't even figure out how to move these around to get them to each other. Like to really let people print your model it would be a good idea to place an accurate STL of a working model that can be printed. These files really can't be without excessive knowledge on how to cad design. Even if you could get this to print, the sheer gluing of the two parts together would be not without issue. Please tell people how to print this model or atleast give them the warning of it being incomplete before wasting people's time, money, and mental anguish in trying to figure this thing out.

Would have been dope to actually have print settings for this lol. How in the world did you print this? s? Orientation? Very new to cults. I still don't see how models have THIS MANY S but zero successful makes. huh? Cool looking model. Just confused as to how I'm supposed to actually print the thing. I've opened it up in fusion to open the model and see if there was a better way to print it but I simply don't see a best case scenario. There is a single orientation where the hinges aren't in the way, but if you print it in that orientation you have so much just printing into thin air. Really really wish you would have put a small amount of effort into explaining how this is supposed to be printed. Very cool of you to share the model for free though.

I've only been printing for ~2500 hours (a bit over 3 months) so I'm pretty new, but I also could not find a way to print it as it s. I really wanted this model though so instead I split it by object and painstakingly oriented and lined up the outer sections so that it prints in 4 pieces with 4 of the hinges assembled on the plate. Doing this allows you to 2 of the sections (hinges on the plate, all around). The other 2 sections sit fully on the plate and only need for the hinges at the top of the objects. After printing you need to break a section of the female part of the hinge, insert the male part and then super glue the broken hinge piece back on to secure the hinge. Someone who can 3D design could improve this portion a lot.

Really not well designed overall imo, but you can make it work with a few hours of tinkering.

I'll post my print and object-plate orientation when I get some time.

Thank you for taking the time to give a response to how you got this to print. I'm pretty good at design, i did throw it into fusion but couldn't figure otu an optimal way to get everything to print as one piece.

This is a good print but why would you close it like that, it just makes it harder to print you should lay it in the open configuration, and not only would make it easier to print since you wouldn't need but also give a prettier finish.

We modified the STL. So it can be scaled in the slicer but the hinges will be affected.

Did you modify the STL to make this, or the original OpenSCAD? I'd like to scale it a bit and try printing it again, I've not had luck with the hinges holding up so far.
