Pugbots!
Soooooo cute, and you can also bolt an 18mm Auto-Shotgun to them!
Yay!
Pugbots are robot beings found all throughout the Worldgate networks. They are ubiquitous and near omnipresent in most mechanical environments, where they linger about the edges of Junctionworld society, nibbling on metallic scraps or lapping up errant lubricant spills and puddles.
They do not compete for resources with Biological life forms, nor Machine Folk, and appear to simply be happy-go-lucky denizens of the Universi, existing happily without a real want or care. They exhibit a form of limited intelligence, but can display amazing loyalty and friendliness towards those they have adopted.
Pugbots can be taught simple routines and tasks, including ing tools or holding parts in place during repairs, making them simple, but handy, shop assistants. They manipulate objects via an internal push-pull force field generator, though the strength of the field’s pull is not much more than a standard being’s manipulator strength. For heavier objects, larger claws made of physical material have been adapted for them, and they seem quite pleased with the upgrades.
Pugbots appear to understand the spoken language of Universal, though they only communicate back in electronic chirps, growls, and other whimsical utterances, along with a limited array of signal lights on their face-like sensor plate.
Some are wild, others domesticated, but all are friendly towards Biologicals and other sentients. Pugbots are known to pair-bond with select individuals, and groups or crews much like pack-centric mammalian caninoids.
They can be physically modified, but must be willing to submit to the add-ons. Some have heavy manipulator claws attached, while others take on sentry-like duties. There are even reports of grav-packs or hoverfans being attached to their nubby little hulls, creating flying pugbots! Wheee!
Violence caused by pugbots is rare. As stated before, they are so common and unassuming that they appear as part of the background in normal life.
Little is known of their origin, power sources, or physical means of reproduction, since they rarely stay still long enough to be examined. They do appear to have offspring via live birth that grow and mature, and juveniles appear to be similar, though smaller, than mature specimens. 15mm (1/100th scale) pugbots can be used as pugbot pups on 28mm tabletops.
Unfortunately, they can be destroyed by ballistic and energy weapons, just like anything else. Forceful attempts to disassemble them for study leads to swift retribution by spontaneous gatherings of pugbots summoned by unknown means. Biological pugbot companions usually follow the alarmed units, and are also less than pleased by unfriendly parties trying to pull their robot friends apart.
Sinister efforts to dissect and modify the little beings seem to constantly pop up, as the morbidly curious want to unlock the secrets of the Pugbots' bizarre inner workings.
Popular sentiment usually leads to the destruction of those malignant enough to try, once discovered. Even hardened mercenaries will dole out free death and dismemberment if it means the end of those trying to harm pugbots.
Surprisingly, a dead Pugbot yields no secrets. Their bodies are mere shells, with no innards or mechanical workings inside, adding to their enigmatic nature. Once destroyed, a Pugbot’s remains crumple and fade into simple carbon, silica, and rust within a matter of minutes.

The Pugbots were a happy accident that came about during the creation of a line of gun and repair drones. I found that by giving a bot hull nubby little legs, it took on a squat, friendly-like appearance. Thus, the Pugbots were born.
These cute fellows come in three "pose" choices: looking up, looking down, and looking straight ahead. A juvenile and pup body are also included.
