3D model description

The Oldsmobile (Olds) Rocket V8 was the first mass-produced OHV V8, starting in 1949. It lasted until 1964, and came in displacements of 303, 324, 371, and 394 cubic inches. The 303 was the first displacement put out, and it lasted from 1949-1953. 1954-1956 saw the 324, which was also used in GMC trucks. 1957-1960 saw the 371, and saw the creation of the 'J-2 Golden Rocket'. The J-2 motor had three 2bbl carbs for further increased performance. The largest displacement version, 394, saw use from 1959-1964.

This file pack contains all the necessary files to build up a stock Olds Rocket V8 motor. There are over 20 individual files included in this file pack, including optional parts! For stock valve covers, there are 3 options; A smooth valve cover, a stock ribbed valve cover with wire holders (in multiple configuration options), as well as a stock-ish valve cover with Oldsmobile Rocket script!

This file pack contains all necessary base-engine parts for other Scale Auto Model Works Olds Rocket V8 engine upgrade packs.

For those that like to wire up their engine, this file pack includes a hollowed distributor, and the engine block already has the spark plug holes modeled in to drastically simplify the wiring process! Simply cut the 32 AWG wires of your choice, glue them into the distributor, then run them into the block! The block is hollow, allowing excess wire to be simply pushed in! No need for trimming to proper lengths.

All files are optimized for printing. Many, such as the block, oil pan, and valve covers, are hollowed out to minimize resin use.
